Some thoughts
New Year - New Website

Happy New Year Everyone! As the new year approaches, I'm excited to start fresh. One of my goals is to revamp this website. I want it to be clean and concise. I've chosen to use FASO to make the process easier. So far, so good, but I haven't decided on a template or palette yet. I'm not a frequent blogger, but I think I'll try to do it more often. I've been journaling longhand for years, but that's different and private. Only time will tell if I can make this a regular habit.
As it's the new year, I have a few aspirations. I've been retired for almost two years now, and I'll be 70 in a couple of months. I'm finding the transition to retirement difficult. I'm trying to create some sort of plan each day.
We moved into this house from a condo almost 3 years ago. We've done a lot, but there are so many more projects I want to do. I find myself either doing too much and getting exhausted, or being exhausted and not getting enough done. I want to function less in the "putting out fires" mode, but I'm at my best when I have a somewhat pressing deadline. I started using the ToDoist app a few months ago, and it's helping a bit. I'm still figuring out how best to use it in conjunction with my Google Calendar.
I am trying to figure out how to keep up with routine maintenance of my home and body while also making time for the more fun things and the interesting things. I ought to paint on a daily basis, but I am frustrated by the fact that I do not. There are major projects, such as constructing a woodworking shop and clearing out the large space that is intended to be my maker space but is currently filled with boxes. There are also minor projects, such as installing handles on the over-the-fridge cabinet I got on free cycle and painting it. Installing the pull-out shelves in the kitchen island, hanging plants in my studio window, and hanging bird feeders are all examples of such projects.
Today I realized that the Arisia Con where I will be showing some art wanted my labels by today. Ack! I had not even decided what I am putting in the show. Somehow it crept up on me and now it’s suddenly only 10 days away. I will finish this now and go make a list. All will be well.
If you're reading this, I'm so grateful. I hope in the future my ramblings will be more coherent. Many blessings to you for this coming year.
